The OMVC represents 900 member stations with 40 on the air now and will be going to at least 150 in the near future. This includes 2 stations in Detroit.
The OMVC's focus is now on the devices. 20 partners are working together including 9 television stations for a "showcase" in Washington DC.
The showcase includes a "friends and family" program for viewers to participate and watch up to 20 TV channels including local broadcast and cable networks.
The showcase begins May 3, 2010 and will be using the Samsung Moment handset in conjunction with Sprint.
Dell has announced Mobile DTV enabled products including NetBooks and Laptops coming out this year.
In addition, Dell and AT&T are due to release the Arero Android smart phone with Mobile DTV within the next few months.
LG Electronics is also showing the Maze smart phone with Mobile DTV and a portable DVD player with 7" screen and Mobile DTV.
LG is also showing technology to allow local broadcasters to broadcast a "Scalable Full Channel Mode" which allow for 16 MDTV channels from one station.
